Wykeham Cricket
Club was formed before 1920. We have photographic evidence that cricket
was played in Wykeham before 1912, and we also believe from looking at
old documents that a licence was granted by Wykeham estate, to erect a
pavilion at the park in November 1934. We believe that this may have
been the date (1935) that the park was first used as a cricket
ground. The club badge, which came from The Viscount Downe, contains the text 'Timet Pudorem', which means 'Let him fear shame'.

Currently the
club has over 40 playing members, 20 players in its under 15 junior
squad and 20 vice presidents (non playing members). This allows the club
to have two Saturday teams, two Evening league teams, and the Junior
team playing in the Derwent Valley Junior league.
