Both Wykeham evening teams start with a loss. The Evening league matches started on Thursday 5th May, but unfortunately both were losses.
"A tough game was had in our first A division encounter of the season. Unfortunately this game ended with us losing, oh well you cant win them all! We had a good start with the bat with Steve and Kev. Kev using most of his lives in this one game, lets hope he and the rest of us all have a few more to come. Catches win matches is a very true saying in cricket, although we dropped a couple I dont think this had a bearing on the game at all when you see that Ebberston have a team chocker full of big hitting batsmen. Overall not a bad performance for our first game of the season, lets hope we can build on this and use the experience gained towards our next game. Its not an easy division to play in but if we keep working as hard as that ( and maybe a little harder ) then it wont be long before our first win! Keep

The 2nd team were playing at Wykeham, and bowled Ganton out for just 58. Unfortunately Wykeham finished on 51 for 7 wickets. Rob Shepherdson made 19, and Phil Hull got 4 wickets.
